Belend Mahmoud receives award for best scientific presentation at Papendal 2022

Last week, 14 of our PhD candidates attended the Cardiovascular Training Course at Papendal, organized by the Dutch Heart Foundation.

Based on scientific abstracts and posters, a total of ten scientists were selected to present their research in a TEDMED talk on the final day of the congress. UMCG Cardiology was presented during this session by Belend Mahmoud, Imran Ertugrul and Suzanne Voorrips.

We congratulate Belend Mahmoud, who was awarded with the price for best scientific research presentation of the entire congress! He presented his research on identifying factors that contribute to phenotype development in genetic cardiomyopathies. Imran Ertugrul was able to bring home the second price.
