Zowel mijn bachelor diploma (biomedische wetenschappen, 2015) als mijn master diploma (Regenerative Medicine and Technology, 2018) heb ik behaald aan de Universiteit Utrecht. Tijdens de bachelor heb ik een aantal vakken gevolgd aan de National University of Singapore, en mijn eerste master stage heb ik afgerond in het lab van Joost Sluijter, op de afdeling experimentele cardiologie in het UMC Utrecht. De tweede stage was in het lab van Ibrahim Domian, in Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Tijdens de laatste stage ben ik in contact gekomen met prof. Dr. Peter van der Meer, in wiens lab ik aan mijn PhD ben begonnen in 2018.
Current activities
Recently, cancer survival has increased dramatically, leading to the discovery that most treatment strategies for this disease have toxic effects in other parts of the body, in particular the heart. I am studying the molecular pathways involved in this cardiotoxicity, using induced pluripotent stem cell derived cardiomyocytes from patients.
