Erik Lipšic is an interventional cardiologist and since 2014 also director of the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory of the University Medical Center Groningen. This is one of the largest heart intervention centers in the country. Moreover, in the last years, the variety and complexity of the percutaneous coronary and valve-replacement procedures increased considerably. The research focuses on the preservation of left ventricular function after myocardial infarction and predicting optimal response to different interventions in specific patient populations.
