Marieke Velt successfully completed the bachelor human movement sciences and pre-master medicine at the University of Groningen. During her Master of Medicine, she engaged in research at the cardiology department of the University Medical Center Groningen and successfully applied for the MD/PhD program. In May 2022, she started working as MD/PhD candidate under supervision of prof. dr. Michiel Rienstra and dr. Bart A. Mulder. Her research focuses on determinants of atrial fibrillation related outcomes and response to treatment.
