Olivier Dams is currently working at the department of internal medicine at the Martini hospital for his cardiology residency. Prior to this he worked as a resident not-in training at the departments of cardiology of the Medical Center Leeuwarden and University Medical Center Groningen. In the meantime he completed his MD-PhD training at the department of orthopaedic surgery and successfully defended his PhD in 2021. Subsequently, he started a post-doctoral research project concerning pancreas dysfunction in heart failure, leading to several projects that are currently underway. His interests include the splanchnic circulation and the influence of heart failure on the (exocrine) pancreas.
